Route of Peace. Local variation by through La Fatarella
The Battle of the Ebro took place in Terra Alta from July to November 1938 and was one of the cruellest episodes of the Spanish Civil War, with over 100.000 casualties, including deaths, disappearances and wounded people.
The Route of Peace visits the main battle grounds and intended to remind us of the horrors of war so that history does not repeat itself. It is a county route that links the towns of Gandesa, Vilalba dels Arcs, Bot and Prat de Comte in a round circuit and also has a variant that visits Pinell de Brai, while following sign-posted GR long distance or PR short-distance paths.
