La Fatarella is a village with 1.139 inhabitants situated in the region of la Terra Alta at 500m above sea level. Its mountain ranges are characterized by steep gradients and result in a landscape that is visually very attractive.
In our village you will enjoy a natural environment and a characteristic landscape with crops of dry farming (hazelnut trees, olive trees, almond trees and vineyards) and numerous dry stone constructions. You will find its history and cultural heritage around every corner, and many places will take you back to the Middle Ages, such as the old town streets and ancient arcades.
You will visit the places where confrontations took place during the Civil War, particularly those relating to the Battle of the Ebre when la Fatarella was one of the sites; the Devees trenches, the Camposines War Memorial and the planned Interpretation Centre “The International Brigades”.
But undoubtedly, you cannot leave la Fatarella without tasting the gastronomic specialities elaborated with artesanal products: oil, hazelnuts, wine; typical pastries and cold pork products.
